Bio

Prior to joining the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at San Diego State University as an assistant professor, I joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Riverside as a postdoctoral fellow in 2018. I received a Ph.D. degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, in 2018; an M.S. degree from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY), Buffalo, NY, in 2014; and a B.S. degree from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 2012 all in electrical engineering. I was the recipient of the Frederick E. Terman Award from the Bobby Lyle School of Engineering in 2016. I serve as a reviewer for several IEEE Transactions journals including Smart Grid, Sustainable Energy, Power Systems, and Industrial Informatics. My current research interests include smart grids, microgrids, integration of renewable, and distributed resources, and power system operation and planning.
